We finally had baby brother. On April 7 I went for my 38 week check up. The doctor came in and did the ultrasound, he said the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck, he stopped gaining weight, and during the stress test there was some deccelerations during contractions, which is not good. So we had discussions and deceided we better do a C-section and get the baby out, make sure he was okay. The section was scheduled for the 8th at 1230, lunch time. At 630pm after 23 hours of not eating I finally was taken into the OR, I was ready to jump out of my skin from nerves and hunger! I had the greatest CRNA explained everything to me that I was feeling, or hopefully not feeling! He held up a mirror so I watched the entire surgery, from the first foot sticking out of my belly to the entire body being pulled out. They held up the baby for just a moment then took him away with daddy to get his first bath, foot prints, and to get that first little SCREAM out of him. I could hear him SCREAMING the entire time I was being stitched up. After I was taken to the recovery room to anxiously await holding the little screamer until they had him clean and cute. We decided to order dinner for me before I went into surgery, because the kitchen closed at 700. Dinner got brought in I ate every bite of the best meal I had, had in 9 months. Being sick the entire time, it was nice to not feel nausous or throw up after! Finally Jaxon was brought in with some student nurses on of which I work with at Lakeview, it was really cool!
Recovery went extremly well almost no pain I was really worried about recovery since I had never been through any kind of surgery before. 3 weeks out and I am basically back to normal. I have been eating a ton of food, it all tastes so good and stays down again! Jaxon is doing great he has gained almost a pound since birth which is kind of rare! Elias loves his new baby brother, he always wants to hold him and gets pretty anxious when he is not with him or does not know where he is. All in all everything turned out great and everyone is finally healthy again!
