Moating Boater!

Uncle Josh and Carla drove from New Mexico. Uncle Jed, Uncle Adam, Aunt Mandi, Marc, David, Eric, Grandma, Me and Elias all pilled into the new Durango and met at Lake Powell. Carla was nice enough to invite us all to vacation on her boat for the weekend. We left around midnight and arrived at four in the morning with kids wide awake and no room to sleep. Great planning! Once the sun came up it was the most beautiful site I had seen in a long time!!

Elias finally fell sound asleep in the car with the rest of us after awhile, we hard a hard time waking him up to show him that Uncle Josh and Carla were there to meet us and take us for a ride on Carla's boat. When he finally woke up he was so shy and would not talk, it does happen sometimes! He put his life jacket on and was silent the entire boat trip. When we got to the shore and he saw all the endless dirt and water was his to play in until his heart content, he was running around like a mad man and gabbering like I have never heard before. I could not keep him out of the water, when he was out of the water and dripping wet he would roll around in the dirt. Which earned him his new nickname "pigpen". He found the tube and was so excited, he would not get out, so of course mommy and Eli went for a ride. We started out slow but he kept screaming FASTER!! He loved it!
Fishing was great! I think this was thte best fishing trip we have EVER had in Lake Powell, or probably anywhere. I got a small large mouth and a big striper. We had enought fish meat to send home some with every family. In the middle of the day on saturday we saw huge boils of shad all over the water is was the prettiest thing it looked like sparkiling water with silver shimmers all over. We followed them and caught atleast 6 big stripers right behind. Carla helped Elias fish, when they caught one he was so excited he reeled it in and touched it, hee hee squishy, was his respone.

My cute little fisher boy! By far the best trip to Lake Powell we have ever had. Great warm weather, perfect glassy water for skiing and kneeboarding. Great fishing. The greatest company with no bad moods!! Thank you so much Carla for letting us dirty and scrap up your boat! WE ARE ON FOR NEXT YEAR!!
p.s. I will post some of the videos of everyone skiing and kneeboarding. Even grandma tubing with Marc!!
